Digital Government High-Level Roundtable

Convening under the timely theme How Europe Can Improve Digital Readiness and Deliver Public Services for the Future, this high-level roundtable brought together an eclectic and high-powered group of leading civil servants who have a mandate to digitalise their departments in order to deliver better and more personalised public services to their citizens. Robert Madelin, director-general for communications networks, content and technology at the European Commission, gave an overview of the Digital Agenda’s key successes and challenges, especially as it pertains to the public sector. In interactive working groups, participants compared and shared best practices on digital government in, inter alia, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Norway. Marie Munk, deputy permanent secretary at the Ministry for Economic Affairs and the Interior in Denmark; Jacques Marzin, the French state chief information officer and Agostino Ragosa, the general-director of the Italian agency for digitalisation, delivered special presentations.
