The European Centre for Government Transformation launches Delivering Public Service for the Future: How Europe Can Lead Public-Sector Transformation, a collection of 12 thoughtful essays on the future of public-sector reform and state modernisation. Written by 12 of Europe's leading thinkers and policymakers, the essays explore a wide range of best practice in the field of state transformation, setting out the cutting-edge vision, motivation and experience of top academics and practitioners in the field. The contributors are Rolf Alter, director of public governance and territorial development at the OECD; Christian Bason, director of MindLab; Olivier Costa, professor and director of political and administrative studies at the College of Europe; Arnis Daugulis, government chief information officer of Latvia; Brian Hayes, member of the European Parliament and former minister of state with responsibility for public service reform at the department of finance of Ireland; Michael Kaeding, professor of EU politics and European integration at the University of Duisburg-Essen and visiting professor at the College of Europe; Robert Madelin, director-general for communications networks, content and technology at the European Commission; Bernard Le Masson, global managing director for public service at Accenture Strategy; Francis Maude, minister for the Cabinet Office and paymaster general of the United Kingdom; Kyriakos Mitsotakis, minister for administrative reform and e-government of Greece; Arnaud Mourot, director of Ashoka Europe; Robert-Jan Smits, director-general for research and innovation at the European Commission; and Brigitte Zypries, parliamentary state secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economy and Energy of Germany.
