Stien Gruyters
Research Associate and Project Manager
Stien Gruyters is a research associate and project manager at the Lisbon Council. Stien began her professional journey at the European Economic and Social Committee, working in the section dedicated to transport, energy, infrastructure and information society. In her role, she contributed to inter‑institutional policy work combining policy analysis, project management and stakeholder communication. Her interest in the digital domain further expanded through research activity on social media’s role in political polarisation and its implications for European democracy. She holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in social‑economic sciences from the University of Antwerp and a master’s in European policies and public administration from the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium. She also completed an exchange program in public administration at Sciences Po Paris, focusing on digital policy.
