João Pedro Quintais

Senior Fellow

João Pedro Quintais is a senior fellow at the Lisbon Council. With extensive experience in copyright and information law, Mr Quintais is an associate professor at the Institute for Information Law (IViR) of the University of Amsterdam. He is also co-managing editor of the Kluwer copyright blog, co-director of the Glushko & Samuelson Information Law and Policy Lab and a member of the editorial board at the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence in AI and Procedural Justice (JUST-AI) of the University of Liège. As an active researcher of the intersection of intellectual property, new technologies and social impact, he is a member of the European Copyright Society, the management team of the Digital Services Act Observatory and a member of the project by algorithmic society (AlgoSoc) on public values in the algorithmic society. Mr Quintais also serves as a member of the Academic Advisory Board of User Rights, a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body under the digital services act. Mr Quintais holds a doctoral research degree in information law from the University of Amsterdam.
