As the Russian war against the Ukrainian people continues, one city has a story to tell. Bucha, one of the cities that experienced war crimes and occupation in 2022, is an admirable example of courage and resilience for Europe.
Paul Hofheinz, president and co-founder of the Lisbon Council, travelled to Ukraine in March 2023 to report on the progress of the war, the role of digital technology in holding Ukrainian society together and the coming terms for peace. Anatoliy Fedoruk, mayor of Bucha, heart-warmingly welcomed President Hofheinz, taking time to show the city’s unique recovery and the difficult moment he and his city endured.
